Home Office paid millions to detained migrants
Government pays out millions of pounds to immigrants who have been wrongly detained.
A BBC Freedom of Information request revealed that the Home Office has paid millions of pounds to immigrants who have been wrongly detained, including asylum seekers. Five law firms said they have secured compensation for 121 individuals who were detained unlawfully, to a total of £1.7 million in the last three years.
