Unaccompanied children need guardians: MPs

Unaccompanied children seeking asylum in UK must be protected from exploitation, MPs say.

Members of Parliament (MPs) said foreign children who arrive in the UK seeking asylum should be assigned a personal guardian in order to protect them from exploitation as prostitutes, domestic servants and other illegal roles. Their recommendation follows an investigation by a national newspaper which revealed that one in eight unaccompanied children seeking asylum go missing from care around ports and airports. Read more.
